If I may with your approval use a famous line from Martin Lurther King:
''I HAVE A DREAM!'' For as long as I can remember, I have had this dream/vision that one day, we as Christians,
would come together as the ''TRUE BODY OF CHRIST'' with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ as the head. This I
guess is really not so much my dream but is very Scriptural. For if you will read, Ephesians 1:17-23) with verses 22 and 23
being the ones highlighted: ''and hath put all things under His Feet, and gave Him to be the Head over all things
to the church, which is His Body, the fulness of Him that filleth all in all.''
A Body that would have one purpose...to serve the Living Saviour. A Body that would lay aside all denominational
doctrines and traditions. A Body that would lay aside titles, their positions, and their reputations of grandeur. That look
at me and how important I am attitude. A Body that would lay it all aside for the excellency of knowing their Lord and
Saviour. A Body that would say, ''Lord, what do you want me to do, instead of Lord this is what I want.''
A Body that would love the lost more than their denomination, their church, and their status in the
community. A Body that as Jesus, the Father and the Holy Spirit flows through them, would become even greater servants. Not
what we have now....look at me, serve me, bow down to me and my authority. A Body that would give their all...all the time.
If you remember Paul's story in Philippians 3:5-10, maybe this would be made more clear to you.
Paul was all that and then some. He did not give up all the ''bad things'' in his life, but he gave
''all things'' that were profitable in his life. His teachings, his doctrines, his titles, his position and
his perfectness in keeping all the law. WHY? Because he now had counted it as loss and dung. All that he cherished went from
the profitable column to the loss column. For one purpose! To gain the excellency of Jesus Christ and to know Him in
the power of His Resurrection and the fellowship of His suffering.
you like Paul lay it all aside? Far to long after we have been born again we have been told to lay aside our ''bad
things.'' When God's Word declares all that is gone and we have been perfected. Hebrews 11:20, 21 and Philippians
3:15. So, whose report are you or have you believed? Man's doctrines and traditions, or God's Word?
There in not one denomination out of the 65,000 named denominations now that are in the world that
has not been affected. Paul stated to the Early Church, you heard and believed the truth, how could you desire to go
back under the law? From the very beginning there is one and one thread that keeps raising its ugly head. ''REBELLION!''
''MY WAY!'' satan in Heaven, Adam and Eve in the Garden, Cain against his brother, Israel in its history,
the church under Constanine, the Sanhedrin and the Pharisees, the world church today and we could go on and on.
God's Word through Paul says that in the last days there will be perilous times (2 Timothy
3:1-5). He was talking here not to the world but to the Christian church. They would embrace perilous times because they would
be lovers of self and would love money and then you can read on to what other things they would become. And then in
verse 5 Paul states: ''having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof, from such, turn away.''
Pretty strong language.
So, the vision/dream that I hold on to is closer
now then it has ever been. God is calling out His Body. He is saying, ''seperate yourselves from such and Come and
Follow Me!'' The harvest is ready...lose all those weights (lay aside) that so easily beset you and run the race,
the cause, the plan I have ordained for you since before the very foundations of the world.
To the church at Ephesus John declares: ''I know your works, and your labor and your patience and how you
can not bear them which are evil; and you have tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and have found them
liars and have borne patience and for my name's sake have labored and have not fainted.''
All good and profitable things they had done, but now John like Paul is saying: ''LAY''
it all aside, count it all as dung. WHY? Becasue they had ''LOST'' their ''FIRST LOVE.''
Will you return to your ''FIRST LOVE'' and ''LAY ALL ASIDE'' for that is the call from our
